| Susan O’Connor is off to Ireland for more embroidery classes in June and July 2011. This is the third time Susan has been invited back to teach to this wonderful group of women. There are gorgeous three projects to create... a wool embroidered blanket, broderie anglaise sachet and a stumpwork picture. |

| Oliver's Quilt is a special community quilt, created to raise funds for Spinal Muscular Atrophy Association. The quilt design was inspired by Janet Bridgland's paintings, with each part of Janet's original painting recreated into 'blocks' and embroidered, then assembled together to be what is now known as Oliver's Quilt. |

| Following the devastating Victorian bushfires in February this year, Margie received an email from Sara, a member of the Greater Pacific Region branch of the Embroiderers' Guild of America. Sara told Margie how she and her guild had started the 'Threads for Healing' project and were gathering needlework supplies to send to their stitching sisters across the world who had lost so much. Country Bumpkin eagerly agreed to come on board and organise the distribution of these generous donations. Here is a little insight into how this project unfurled... |

| The first Needlecraft Exhibition was held in September 1992 in the new Victor Harbor Recreation Centre. It was an idea, of Justine Henwood, who working amongst fabric and needlecraft supplies and shown all the finished items by her customers, decided that she shouldn't be the only lucky one to see the beautiful work completed by all the women and men on the Fleurieu Peninsula... |

| I wanted to share some of the photos with you from the trip that Susan O'Connor and I recently made to Europe. Susan taught three classes in each city - Monogramming, Threadpainting and Stumpwork. We had such an amazing time, meeting so many wonderful people and saw some incredible sights! We had students come from many countries to take part in the classes, including Scotland, France, Holland, Canada, Belfast and the US... |
