Soft wools are highlighted with silk threads in these designs, most of which are floral although a rather cute teddy bear, a pair of rabbits and a thread painted wombat are also included.
Simple directions and diagrams are given to achieve designs which are complete in themselves, such as floral hearts and swags, baskets of flowers and posies, and which would be pretty additions to baby blankets and other gift items. The animal motifs would look great on children's blankets or clothing.
I particularly liked the useful thread sampler which Jenny Bradford includes, showing the effect of various silk threads and woollen yarns on the size of the finished project, allowing the embroiderer to make choices accordingly, hard cover 48 pages.
