'As with the other eight books in the 'A-Z' series, this title is a wonderful reference and design source. Many canvas workers are incorporating stumpwork techniques into their work, and this book is a great resource for both the beginner and more advanced stitcher. With over 400 step-by-step photographs, the techniques are easy to follow and the 20 projects are fully illustrated and have detailed instructions. The 'Stitches and Techniques' sections cover surface embroidery techniques including raised and padded stitches, padding and slip techniques, wirework techniques, needlelace techniques and beading techniques. The 'Designs' section is comprised of projects of flowers, insects and animals. The listed materials are easily accessible, and there are even a couple of projects that use some of the real metals. Even if you think you're not ready to try stumpwork this book will change your mind! Expand your horizons and look for ways to add these great techniques to your stitching repertoire.'

Hello! I took a beginning Stumpwork Class this past summer. I love the beauty of this wonderful technique! Since I could not complete what was taught to me right away, I started hunting for this book everywhere. A lot of retailers knew what I was talking about, but did not carry this book because there was no great demand for stumpwork. I e-mailed Country Bumpkin and my books arrived in less than two weeks. How could you not buy these lovely books? The illustrations and directions are clear and concise. Even if you forget how to apply a certain technique, you can always refer to this publication and it comes back to you. I have A-Z Embroidery Stitches, A-Z Buillion, A-Z Ribbon Embrodiery and I have pre-ordered A-Z Needlepoint. It is comforting to know that I have the "best" reference books available to refer to when I want to refresh my mind, or learn something "new." Thank you for all your efforts in producing such wonderful needlework books!!!!! I could not function without them.
